James & Kyla - July 6, 2008

We met James & Kyla at The Grand Bridal Show in January. By the way, if you're considering going to a bridal show this winter, don't miss this one, it's spectacular! The next one is January 3-4, 2009 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet in Cranston. We'll see you there!

James & Kyla are a terrific couple who are athletes, they met playing soccer a few years ago. Their reception was in the Atrium Room at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick.

We loved Kylas "pool" colors in greens and blues, I think we have a couple of pics of the dresses and tables. Also, I loved the men in light blue vests and ties.

Here are their songs:
1. Parents Entrance: You’re The First, Last, Everything –Barry White
2. Bride & Groom Entrance: This Is The Time Of My Life – David Cook
3. First Dance: When I Said I Do – Clint Black & Lisa Hartman
4. Mother/Daughter Dance: In My Daughter’s Eyes – Martina Mcbride
5. Mother/Son Dance: You Raise Me Up – Josh Groban
6. Cake Cutting: Grow Old With You – Adam Sandler

10. Put On Garter: I’m Too Sexy – Right Said Fred
11. Last Dance Bride/Groom: I Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing-Aerosmith

Most guests were Country music fans, and the last song by Toby Keith was a dedication to all our troops. It was an emotional end to the evening!

Marya & Keith - July 3, 2008

What a great start to the 4th of July weekend! A Thursday night wedding really gets the party started! Kinney Bungalow in Narragansett is a gorgeous spot, close to the RI beaches.

The ceremony was held outside on the lawn, as was the cocktail hour. We played some traditional tunes pre-ceremony, and then some jazz for the cocktail hour.

The theme Marya & Keith chose was "Old New England" and featured the guys in blue blazers, a Del's Lemonade Stand, and local beers and wines. The buffet by West Bay Gourmet was also local favorites like stuffies, clamcakes and chowder to start.

After sunset the party kept going until 11:00 PM, where we could see fireworks out the gigantic windows! Marya & Keith were a lot of fun, they danced most every dance. We always tell our brides and grooms, that if you are on the dance floor, that's where everyone will want to be! This couple, their bridal party and their families were out there all night!

Oh, we also liked the lime green drink "koozies" they gave everyone as a favor. If you're reading this Marya & Keith, we think of you often when we use them at home!

Here are their songs:
Bridal Party Entrance: Let’s Get Married/Jagged Edge
Bride & Groom Entrance: Another One Bites The Dust/Queen
First Dance: Can’t Help Falling In Love With You/Elvis Presley
Bridal Party Dance: A Little Less Conversation/Elvis Presley
Cake Cutting: You’re My Best Friend – Queen
Father/Daughter Dance: Landslide – Dixie Chicks
Mother/Son Dance: Oh Danny Boy- Elvis Presley
Last Dance Bride & Groom: Save The Last Dance For Me/Michael Buble
Last Dance Of Evening: I’ve Had The Time Of My Life/Dirty Dancing

Yaliza & Chris - June 28, 2008

Okay, so if you have been keeping track, this was our third wedding in three days. We worked hard to make sure everything went smoothly - we were well-prepared, paced ourselves, and we made it through! Whew!

The wedding was held at Alpine Country Club in Cranston. It was our first time playing there, and Nick and the staff were incredible to work with. Things run "like clockwork" there. And, the Baked Alaska presentation is really cool!

Yaliza & Chris spent several hours with us on the music, over the course of three meetings and a few emails. Their introductions were especially important to them - as they had 26 people being introduced! Yaliza is a Disney fan, so Glenn put together a special section of "Circle of Life" from The Lion King. The music continued into the "Quiddich Theme" from Harry Potter. It was so exciting!

We also downloaded some Meringue music Yaliza had suggested for her family to dance to, and although we don't really know what the songs were about, they really enjoyed dancing to them! We thought all of their music choices were great and very personalized:

Parents Entrance: Poor Unfortunate Souls/Little Mermaid
Wedding Party Entrance: Circle Of Life/Lion King and Quiddich Theme/Harry Potter
Bride & Groom Entrance: Let’s Get It Started – Black Eyed Peas
Mother/Son Dance: When You Say You Love Me/Josh Groban
Cutting The Cake Music: These Are Special Times/Christina Aguilera
Father/Daughter Dance: Mi Nina Bonita/Luco Barrios
Bride & Groom First Dance: Because You Loved Me/Celine Dion
Bridal Party Dance: Little Wonders/Meet The Robinsons
Bouquet Toss: This One’s For The Girls/Martina McBride
Garter Toss: Another One Bites The Dust/Queen
Last Dance: La Isla Bonita/Madonna

We all had a terrific time, and we hope Yaliza and Chris enjoyed their honeymoon at - La Isla Bonita!
Here's a few pics:

Glenn snapped this one of me on the mic:

Sarah & Steve - June 27, 2008

Sarah & Steve let us know that they were "very laid back" the first time we met them. They live in Virginia, so we didn't have the opportunity to spend much time with them. Through emails and phone calls, we got an idea of how they wanted things to go.

The ceremony and reception were held at Quidnessett Country Club. We love working there, it's gorgeous, the staff is great, the food is wonderful! Barbara was our coordinator for this wedding, she really took care of things!

We used our small battery-powered speaker for the outside ceremony. We hooked it up to the iPod, and we were on our way. Then, Glenn hooked it up to the wireless, so you could hear everything that was going on inside the entire night!

Here's a couple of pics of the crowd dancing. I guess we didn't get any good ones of the bride and groom, sorry!

Kerri & Bruno - June 26, 2008

Yes, you read the date correctly, June 26th was a Thursday! We have heard a lot of brides and grooms are looking into alternative dates and times for their weddings. And a beautiful day it was!

Kerri & Bruno held their reception at Independence Harbor in Assonet, MA. If you have never been, they have a Sunday Brunch open to the public on the first Sunday of each month. See their website for details. The grounds are so beautiful, and it is a venue dedicated entirely to weddings and private events.

This young bride has a very creative family. Her Mom made her dress, and her sister made her cake! The groom's family is Portugese, and his Mom helped us with the music! We enjoyed this wedding very much! The crowd didn't mind staying up until Midnight on a Thursday!

Here are their songs:

Parents Entrance: Ring Of Fire/Johnny Cash
Bridal Party Entrance: Friends In Low Places/Garth Brooks
Bride & Groom Entrance: Darth Vader Theme
First Dance: Faithfully/Journey Father/Daughter Dance: There You’ll Be/Faith Hill
Mother/Son Dance: Olnos De Minha
Last Dance Bride & Groom: A New Day/Celine Dion

Tricia & Sean - June 21, 2008

It's always fun when a wedding is inspired by family and family heritage. Tricia and Sean held their reception at Benjamin's in Taunton, MA. We had been for dinner, but had never worked there before. We highly recommend it!

It was also our first time working with a bagpiper! Tricia and Sean actually learned an Irish dance to perform with him. It was great! After that, we opened the dance floor with the Dropkick Murphy's "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" and the floor literally shook with so many dancers!

Our setup looked pretty good there, too!

We wish Tricia & Sean all the best, they are terrific, and we really enjoyed working with them. Here are some of their specialty songs:

Parents And Bridal Party Entrance: Right Here Right Now/Van Halen
Bride & Groom Entrance: Where The Streets Have No Name/U2

Tanya & Michael - June 20, 2008

What an amazing time we all had at this wedding! Well, it was called "Ten Years Together" because Tanya & Michael actually got married a year ago, and they've been together for 10 years! This was the celebration they put together for family and friends.

It was held at Newport Vineyards, and we had been looking forward to it for quite some time. It was all Tanya & Michael's vision, as the Vineyard is not exactly equipped for a wedding reception. And they really created a wonderful party!

The ceremony was held out in the vineyard (with music provided by our battery-powered speaker). Guests then proceeded to the tasting room after the ceremony for wine and hors douvers, and then into the tent for dinner and dancing.

Later, there was a band in the barrel room, which had been outfitted to look like a lounge. It was fabulous! The photographer, MKD Photography, kept people occupied with a slide show and the photo booth by RI Photobooths was a great idea for a guest book. Oh, and the nacho bar was my favorite part!

Here's some of the music they chose:
Grandparents Entrance: How Sweet It Is- Michael Buble
Bridal Party & Bride and Groom Entrance: Everlasting Love- Gloria Estefan
First Dance: I Could Not Ask For More- Sara Evans
Father/Daughter dance: My Girl- The Temptations
Mother/Son dance: There You Are- Martina McBride
Bride & sister (flower girl): Suddenly I See- KT Tunstall
Just before last song: Kind & Generous - Natalie Merchant
Last song: Save the Last Dance for Me- Michael Buble

Elysia and Neil 6-7-08

On the most popular wedding date for 2008, we spent our evening at The Wharf Tavern in Warren with Elysia & Neil. Since it is so close to home, we didn't mind the travel!

Elysia called us as soon as she got engaged last summer. She is the receptionist at our Chiropractor's office had has known us both for some time! We had fun picking out the music with this couple, they are a lot of fun. Neil has an especially great sense of humor and kept us laughing with his ideas.

Here are their specialty songs:

Bridal Party Entrance: Final Countdown - Europe
Bride & Groom Entrance: Get The Party Started - Pink
First Dance: From This Moment – Shania Twain & Bryan White
Cake Cutting: Grow Old With You – Adam Sandler
Father/Daughter Dance: Beautiful In My Eyes – Joshua Kadison
Mother/Son Dance: I Hope You Dance – Leann Womack

We loved "Closing Time" for the end of the night. Very cute! Elysia did a great job with her DIY table numbers and all the PINK stuff. And, the flowers by Florals by Alisa were incredible!

Brian & Inna - May 24, 2008

Our first wedding of the season, at the Italian Benevolent Society in Newton, MA. Brian used to work with Glenn, and we were honored that they chose us to play music for their ceremony and reception. In all, we met 3 times before the wedding, once at our place, once at theirs, and once in between at Chili's. Inna is Russian, and provided us with several CD's of music that her family likes.

They chose traditional pre-ceremony and ceremony music, and although Inna looked a little nervous, she was gorgeous as she walked down the aisle!

With 15 courses, the reception was presented in true Russian style by Boston caterer, Igor of Igor's Catering. Their entrance song (Beautiful Day by U2) and first dance (I Don't Want to Miss A Thing by Aerosmith) were perfectly chosen to fit their personalities!

Here are the rest of their specialty songs:

Bridal Party Dance: What A Wonderful World/Louis Armstrong
Father & Daughter Dance: I Turn To You/Christina Aguillera
Mother & Son Dance: You Raise Me Up/Josh Groban
Bride & Son Dance: Are You Gonna Be My Girl/Jet
