Maggie called us from NYC, she got our name from
Weddingwire.com (a great website for brides, where you can read lots of vendor reviews).
She is a doctoral candidate, and he is in a Broadway Show, so neither had much time to plan. The wedding was held in Dartmouth, MA, on a private estate. The tent was set up on the (ho hum) croquet court! Maggie and family spent their summers at a nearby cottage, and wanted to share this special place with their friends.
It was a stormy day, and we were nervous, but the clouds parted and the sun came out just as everyone arrived. Isn't that just perfect? Is it because of the wedding? We think so!
We worked with a great caterer from Westport, don't be decieved by the name.
NE Clam Jams is run by a neat lady named Linda, and the food was great, the ideas fresh, and the staff delightful! They specialize in local, native produce and natural ingredients. Everything was cooked (grilled) on site. Oh, and the fresh baked berry pie for desert....all I can say is "wow".
The evening was lots of fun, with Maggie's Dad taking over MC duties for a bit, introducing people and telling stories. Glenn asked him if he was looking for work, ha ha. (I doubt it, he's a New York City attorney!) Not a lot of formalities, just family, friends, good food and dancing. More and more brides and grooms want that these days, and we are happy to oblige!
