We often work at weddings where not only are the bride and groom perfect for each other, but the two families become one as well. Jen & Tom's wedding was like that! Two great people with fun, happy and involved families - it always makes for a fantastic night!

The wedding and reception were held at the lovely Laurel Lane Country Club in West Kingston, RI. Photography was by Mike Spirito, Cake by Scrumptions, and flowers by the Flower Girls. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Mike Egan of Heavenly Weddings.

We met Kayla's family about 3 years ago when they were planning her sister Abby's wedding. They made the trek from Foster to Warren several times in the planning. When it came time to plan Kayla's wedding - they knew who to call for music! It's so much fun when we get to see families again!

Anne & Brian - June 27, 2010

Sunday morning June 27th found us at Quidnessett Country Club for Anne & Brian's wedding. They are a fun couple, we had a great time working with them to choose music. Their families and friends were upbeat and fun, too, and they enjoyed dancing the afternoon away! Brian is really into movies and commercials, so they had a "Geico" centerpiece giveaway and a Star Wars finale. Thanks for having us, Anne & Brian!

Melissa & Dennis are a super-fun couple who did a great job of putting together a very lovely wedding at the West Valley Inn in West Warwick, RI in the "Puccini" Room.

Castle Hill Inn was the scene for Jenna & Reed's wedding on Friday, June 11th. The gorgeous location, breathtaking views and incredible food were almost no match for the beautiful wedding party! Everything was so perfect that evening, no one wanted it to end! It's unfortunate that they have noise ordinances in Newport, because we could have played all night!

She's a nurse doing a ride-along with paramedics, he's a police officer. Their worlds collide and it's love at first sight! Rachel & Chris are one of those couples that was just meant to be! They found Aldrich Mansion the perfect place to gather family and friends for their reception on a gorgeous Saturday night in May.

We had a great time at Nicole & Rich's wedding! It was held at Ledgemont Country Club in Rehoboth. They have a great cocktail hour lounge, and the room was really pretty, especially enhanced by our purple uplighting! Our friends Gabrielle & Matt of Gabrielle Marks Photography sent Kate & Matt to meet with us. The result was a home run - their wedding and reception were held at Fenway Park! Both avid baseball (and other sports) fans, Kate & Matt's excitement was certainly contageous!

It was one thing to have the ceremony in the park over by 3rd base, but I loved seeing the guests' faces as they walked into the reception room! A full view of the park! All 4 You Winter Showcase, January 31, 2010

After much anticipation, the day finally came for our 3rd Annual Winter Showcase! The function room at Eleven Forty Nine East was perfect for our crowd. The colors are perfect, the staff and food are great, and the location central for everyone. Our brides and grooms came, some with parents, some with bridal party. Vendor friends came out to support us as well!

We gave away a few prizes, including 2 tickets to Jersey Boys, an Engagement Session with Gabrielle Marks, brunch at Eleven Forty Nine, and free uplighting from All 4 You Disc Jockey!

Many thanks to Gabrielle & Matt from Gabrielle Marks Photography, Jay from Golden Gate Studio, Roy from Sweet Sophistications, Ann Marie from Couture Bridal, who donated flowers, cake, gown preservation and photos. We also had a special appearance by Kristin Green of Kristin Greene Professional Makeup Artistry, and Mike Picard of MP Videography. Also thanks to Elissa Lombardo, who kept track of everyone signing in, and did a great job showcasing her centerpiece creations.

Wendy & Joe - December 31, 2009

Well, is there a better way to celebrate New Year's Eve than at a wedding at the Providence Biltmore? We think not! Wendy & Joe booked us almost 2 years ago, so we had been looking forward to their wedding for a long time! They were too - they have been together for over 10 years!

The ballroom is incredible, and was still decorated for the holidays. We provided uplighting in an amber color (gold and red) an also undertable lighting for cake and sweetheart tables. The Bose system also played wireless in the La Pogee room for their cocktail hour. Wendy is a dancer, and she choreographed her wedding party's introductions, including the parents! The crowd went wild! Of course, hats and noisemakers were distributed near midnight, and I called out the countdown from the clock on my Blackberry (thought of that at the last minute - who has a second hand clock anymore?). The final hour was a mash up of what Wendy called "throw back jams" - an hour of old school songs for a continuous hour of dancing. Fun!

We had the pleasure of working with Keith Berry of Berry Photos, and Mike Picard of MPVideography. And the staff at the Biltmore is more than professional.

Alpine Country Club in Cranston, RI was the setting for Erin & Dean's ceremony and reception. Alpine really has it all - gorgeous location, great food, and an incredible staff!

We provided the sound and music for their ceremony in the ballroom, after which everyone went out to the cocktail area where we provided music through a wireless speaker. The staff quickly transformed the ballroom for dinner & dancing.

Erin & Dean were incredibly easy to work with. They just wanted their family and friends to have a good time. And, have a good time they did! They danced and danced. And, we had the chance to work with Melissa Robotti Photography, it was a pleasure! Oh, and the beautiful flowers were by Golden Gate Studios.

Atlantic Beach Club in Middletown, RI was the scene on October 3 for Kristin & Josh. Lori and the staff at the club were so accommodating, they do a great job! The room is spectacular, you feel like you are right on the beach!

Kristin & Josh planned a wonderful evening for their families and friends to enjoy, and the music was extremely important to them. And boy, did they love to dance! Their intros were super-exciting, and the crowd went wild when they emerged for the first time as husband and wife.
They also had a photobooth, and a Cold Stone Creamery bar for dessert! That was "cool"!

Shyla & Travis got engaged at Cinderella's Castle, and decided to create a bit of a fairy tale themed wedding. Their reception was held at Quidnessett Country Club with pretty accents of royal blue.

We really enjoyed working with Shyla, she took a lot of time to consider the music her family and friends would like to hear. She also chose some "show tunes" for cocktail hour and dinner, which is right up my alley! We also had the chance to work with photographer Cecilia Del Viscio, we really enjoyed seeing her again!

Carol & Eric - September 19, 2009

Well, there was never a bluer sky than at Bristol Yacht Club on September 19th! Carol and Eric got married at Colt State Park, then family and friends gathered at the Yacht Club for a lobster clambake prepared by McGrath's Clambakes. Chris from Bristol Yacht Club oversaw the day's events, and Julie from Bristol Workshops in Photography was behind the camera.

Carol did a lovely job with the blue and green colors that complimented the scene on Bristol Harbor that day. She named tables after yachts, and everyone picked up little sailboats with their names on them for place cards.

They danced to the Beach Boys, Jimmy Buffet and lots of sailing songs. After dark, we lit the dance floor with some blinking blues and greens, and candles lit the tables. A great time was had by all!

Alison & Thayer - September 18, 2009

Ali & Thayer came to us by recommendation of another of our '09 brides, Jennie. They seemed so quiet at first. Little did we know that they actually met on the dance floor at a mutual friend's wedding! Along with their families and wonderful wedding party, they tore up the dance floor! I think we have a shot of Thayer holding Alison up in the air like in the "Dirty Dancing" finale.

They had their ceremony outside at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln, where we provided sound and music. Then, everyone went into the cocktail hour area, followed by dinner and dancing in the ballroom. Kirkbrae is a wonderful place, the staff and service are terrific, lead by the affable Nicole. And, we got to work with Michelle from Fresh Focus Productions on video, and David Grenier of Hull Grenier Studios for photography.

Kate & Casey - September 12, 2009

Catching up on September weddings! Happy October everyone!

Casey & Kate found us on Martha Stewart Weddings when they were planning their wedding in RI from Seattle, WA. We jumped at the chance to work with them when we heard their wedding was being held on the grounds of Theatre-by-the-Sea in Matunuck, RI. What a wonderful place! I worked at the theater back in the '90s, so the place is filled with wonderful memories!

Everything was held at the restaurant Bistro by the Sea, formerly the Sea Horse Grill. The Crowe family runs the restaurant, and they did an amazing job with all the logistics. And the dinner was wonderful!

The ceremony was held in a tent behind the restaurant. We provided sound for the officiant with a lavalier microphone that also picked up the vows. A remote wireless setup was used in the bar area for cocktail hour. Then, a single Bose tower provided music and sound in the dining room. After dinner, everyone headed outside to the tent for dancing, where Bose again rocked the house! A little drizzle never stopped these folks from keeping the dance floor packed to the last minute.

We knew this wedding was going to be special when we met Shirley & Rory. It presented a few challenges for us, but we were so enamoured by them that we went for it!

We met Shirley & Rory at The Grand Bridal Show in January, and really enjoyed our time with them. Their wedding and reception were held at Squantum Association in East Providence. A beautiful ceremony outside in the courtyard, followed by cocktails in the clubhouse. After introductions everyone went upstairs for dinner and desert. The dinner was exquisite, a full New England clambake served in several courses. The cake was designed by the groom, who is a chef!

Sunday morning found us back at Quidnessett Country Club for the wedding of Megan & Andrew. We really enjoyed putting the music together with these two. They are upbeat, fun and easy going.

We provided music for their ceremony outside on the deck, and then the cocktail hour and reception inside in the Bay View Room. That's where we met the girls from Flowerthyme who were setting up an individual rose at each place setting (and made the centerpieces and bouquets, too). Family friend Debra Gagnon was the photographer.

We always give extra credit to guests who dance in the afternoon! This crowd was lots of fun! Our best to Megan & Andrew!

Jennie & Jay's reception was held at Quidnessett Country Club on Saturday night of Labor Day weekend. Jennie's careful and creative planning of all the details really paid off - the room looked amazing! From the cake to the candy buffet, the pinks were all tied in. We provided pink uplighting around the room. Jay handled much of the music choices, and even cut the intro songs. Their introductions were choreographed, and each couple had their own dance! A club DJ from Connecticut, Jay also mixed a few songs for the crowd during the dance portion of the reception. It was really cool! They also put together an amazing video that was played during dinner. Quite a creative duo!

Our friends at Wedding Stories were there to capture everything on Video. And, we got to work with Jenny from Zenobia Studios, too. We had heard much about her gorgeous photos, can't wait to see the pics! Check out her blog, you'll be stalking it soon! The girls' bouquets were by Flower Thyme, but Jennie created the same flowers in silk for centerpieces. Great vendors, great couple, wonderful family and friends - a terrific night!

Bernadette & Marc got married on a white, sandy beach in Cancun on August 15th. Their reception was held at Kirkbrae Country Club on Sunday night. Nicole and her staff provide such wonderful service, it's always a pleasure to work there!

Incorporating colors of pink, black and white, Bernadette had a great vision for the room. Couture Bridal provided pink uplighting, chair covers and a gobo on the dance floor. Golden Gate Studios created the incredible centerpieces. It was a desert-lovers paradise...cupcakes, candy bar, chocolate fountain and ice cream sundae bar. Whoo-hoo!

Karen & Jason got married and had cocktail hour on the patio outside The Towers, followed by dinner and dancing upstairs. Catering was by Simply Devine. I worked the sound and music controls for the ceremony by the fountain, with our battery-powered speaker and wireless lavalier microphone for the officiant. It was fun!

DJ John set up upstairs and played music for dinner and dancing. There weren't any formalities, just fun, friends and family.

Katy & Bob's wedding at Quidnessett Country Club on Saturday night included pretty Indigo and Silver colors. So, we added a wall of blue behind the DJ area - so cool! We were delighted to work with our friends Gabrielle & Matt Jacobsen (Gabrielle Marks Photography), first time this year! New England Photobooths were there, they are so much fun! Flowers were by Jeff & Co. and we loved the centerpieces. The music included a "dance off" for the centerpieces, 2 people from each table had to dance a stroll line, Katy & Bob selected the winners. The crowd was really into it! They are big sports fans, so their songs reflected the Celtics and Red Sox music! Their last song (Kokomo) sent them off to Aruba! We wish them the best!

Sunday brought us back to the Officer's Club in Newport, one of our new favorite spots!

Lauren & Danny planned a totally fun reception with family and friends of all ages. For the intro's, each couple had their own entrance music, and they made the most of it! The pretty flowers were by Wildflowers of Barrington, and the delicious Cake was by Dyane's Sweet Tooth of Cumberland. We worked with Scott Zuehlke Photography, he was terrific. He is in a lot of my dance photos because he seemed to be right in the middle of everything all night! He was also a very pleasant dinner companion!

Lynn-Ann & Rob planned from western PA, and wanted something different. So, they chose the Coast Guard House in Narragansett for their reception location. It was definitely a logistical challenge for us, dinner downstairs and dancing upstairs, but we do love a challenge! It wasn't a large crowd, but what they lacked in numbers, they certainly made up for in enthusiasm for this super nice couple.

It was a gorgeous night on the ocean! We also worked with John from the Wedding Stories video crew, and Photographer Cecilia DelViscio. Both were fun and accommodating of the small spaces!

Saturday night we were back at Quidnessett, in the same room! This time, however, the guests list was nearly 300! Three Bose setups, and the place was rockin'! I know a DJ who was very excited about that!

Maureen and Josh are so sweet, and the room was decorated so beautifully in pinks and greens. There was an amazing candy buffet, and lots of pink and green dancing shoes (flip flops) available. Their family and friends had a great time, especially on the dance floor!

We got to work with Erick from Erick Brown Photography, he was so professional and easy going. And John, Sean and Corey were also on hand from Wedding Stories video. A crackerjack team, can't wait to see the footage!

Lauren and Jonathan had a terrific spot on a gorgeous Saturday night - the Newport Officer's Club. The colors were blue and white, and all ages danced and danced!

Flowers were by Semia, the cake was delish - but I'm not sure who made it! Photography was by Donna Caster. We had worked with Donna before - 2 years ago - and were so happy to see her again! She and her assistant Erin were a lot of fun!

Lauren polled her married guests to ask what their "First Dance" song was, and incorporated that into her play list for dinner. Some of the couples got up and danced to their song. Great idea!

Yes, another bride who's name starts with "E"! We never got to meet Elissa or Ian prior to the wedding, but we knew their wedding would be a lot of fun. Both graduates of Salve Regina in Newport, they now live in Michigan. Their reception was held at the Green Valley Country Club in Portsmouth. We also got to meet and work with photographer Michelle Annarante.

It was a morning wedding with an afternoon reception, and the girls wore a pretty navy blue and white bridesmaid dress, the guys had navy suits, and everything was bright and sunny!

Our hats are off to all those that danced the afternoon away. Sometimes it's hard to get people up dancing in the daytime, but this group was ready to party!

I don't want to jinx anything, but our brides are so NICE!

With the weather cooperating, their wedding was held at the family's summer home on Poppasquash Point in Bristol. Their family and friends came from all over to celebrate. Catering was by our friends at Fine Catering by Russell Morin. The cake was made by the Bride's sister, and check out the creative escort card "boat" that was created by the family. Navy blue and orange lanterns were hanging inside the tent, and gorgeous orange roses were placed on each table. Photography was by Steve Depino of New York.

The wedding party was lots of fun, featuring the bride's four brothers all walking in together. The groomsmen toasted together for moral support and got a lot of laughs. Social Networking was the theme of the Maid of Honor's speech, as she talked about when Tony "friended" her on Facebook. That is a sign of the times!

It must look like we are only DJ'ing weddings for bride's with names that begin with "E" - Emily, Erin, Ethel...and Eileen coming up in two weeks!

Emily and Rob put everything together in about 6 months. That's something that would make most people cringe, but they never seemed stressed out! The food, tables, decorations, candles and all the little touches were terrific! Their venue was Five Bridge Inn in Rehoboth MA. Catering was by Janet & Peter Devine of Simply Devine Catering. Janet also made the cake! Our challenge was the purple uplighting, and we think we got it right! We used five floor lights for the effects in the pictures below.

This was such a fun group! Family and friends, kids of all ages. It makes us feel great when a group that really loves to party together has so much fun! We wish these two the best, and hope they have a relaxing honeymoon!

Erin & Steve - June 13, 2009

We really enjoyed our meetings with Erin & Steve, their excitement for their wedding was contagious. Steve is so funny and really into music, he and Glenn really hit it off! Erin is so nice and together they really have a "glow" about them. It certainly showed last night - it was definitely a case of lighting up the room!

The reception was held at the Casino in Roger Williams Park, with the ceremony at the Bandstand outside. Providing the music, I had a great view of the ceremony. First, four Little bell ringers walked down the aisle, heralding the start of the ceremony. Then the flower girls & ring bearer, and next the bridesmaids walking down the long stairway to "Ode To Joy". Next, Erin appeared at the top of the stairs, and walked down to "Canon in D". The whole thing was picture perfect!

After the ceremony, everyone went up to the Casino for cocktails and appetizers on the first floor. Then, it was up to the second floor for introductions, dinner and dancing. It was all about family and friends, and being together - the best type of reception. All ages danced, to all types of music from oldies to Top 40.

Flowers were by Golden Gate, such pretty pink centerpieces and bouquets (that I forgot to get on film!). Even the little vases on the cocktail tables were perfect. Catering was by Atomic Catering, and Mark and staff were so nice to work with. Steve told us to try the home-made potato chips and I did not forget! Yum! The entire dinner was wonderful! We can't wait to see some video footage from John at Wedding Stories and a photos by David Bibeault, whose work is always wonderful.

Black & White 50th Birthday Party - June 6, 2009

It was a surprise party for Capt. Norcross' wife, Ann. He, along with several friends and family members, planned from Washington DC with great care and efficiency! It was held in the Constellation room at the Newport Officer's Club. The newly renovated complex is so beautiful!

Ann & Murray danced a couple of specialty dances, a rhumba and a waltz, after taking lessons at Arthur Murray (no relation). The Rhumba was to "Hungry Eyes" from Dirty Dancing, and the Waltz was to "Could I have this Dance" by Anne Murray (again, no relation).

Her brothers performed a "roast" and there was a contest to see who knew the most about Ann. But mostly, they danced the night away!

Carrie & Brendan, May 30, 2009

This was a destination wedding, as neither the bride or groom are from Bristol, but both love the area. Carrie and Brendan are both working out of the country, and planned everything long distance - from Malawi, Africa! When we met them last summer, we asked them lots of silly questions like, "do you have running water?" and "did you meet Madonna?", and they were so patient in answering them all! They are so nice, we had been waiting nearly a year to see them again! Carrie's parents kept in touch with us throughout the year, and even came to a couple of our events. In the end, they were rewarded with a gorgeous day on Bristol Harbor.

They had a unique set up. Everything was held at the Bristol Harbor Inn/DeWolf Tavern. Ceremony and cocktail hour outside under the tent, dinner upstairs in the Bristol Harbor Room, and then back outside for dessert and dancing under the tent (timed perfectly for sunset). Catering was by Russell Morin and their always terrific staff lead by Liza, photography was by the high-spirited Krzystyna Harber, flowers by our friends at Floral Symphony. The cake was made by a friend of the bride. Other touches included a "fish" theme created by African cloth brought from Malawi by the bride & groom, and hand-carved fishes at each place setting.

The one thing that put me over the edge at this extraordinary wedding was the Cold Stone Creamery Bar! !! Enough said.

Their specialty music was jazzy, easy-breezy stuff, very mild-mannered - just like they are! The dancing was more contemporary. Their families and friends love 80's and 90's music, with a little bit of Top 40 and a splash of "hokey pokey" for the flower girls!

Ethel contacted us based on a rave review from a friend who had been to a wedding we did last summer. Dave is in the Air Force, and they were living in Ohio, but then would be stationed in California in April. We didn't get to meet her until a couple of weeks ago, and we didn't get to meet Dave until the wedding! A couple of phone meetings, a few emails, an organized bride, and it was easy to put everything together.

The Newport Officer's Club was recently renovated, and looked beautiful. We have 2 other weddings and a birthday party there this summer, and we really enjoy working there.

What a wonderful night! Amanda & Pete's wedding reception was held in the Rotunda Room at the Crowne Plaza in Warwick. The bride & groom were absolutely gorgeous, and the wedding party was stunning! All the little touches (that we know were a lot of work) were perfect! In colors of pink and brown, everything was coordinated, from the card box to the favors.

First of all, the Crowne Plaza does an amazing job, from the Maitre D' Karen (on site the entire evening), to the food, to the room itself, they do such a great job. We also had the pleasure of spending the evening with Keith Berry of Keith Berry Photography and John from Wedding Stories. It was a lot of equipment in a small area, and all were so nice and so easy to work with! We'll watch their websites for photos and maybe video, can't wait! Also, the flowers by Golden Gate Studios were simply breathtaking.

The crowd was super, a lot of great dancers who danced to all types of music. When family and friends come together and a great song is playing..it's magic on the dance floor! The flower girl danced the entire night, and I mean to every song. The kid has got some moves! So cute.

We enjoyed working with Amanda and Pete, they were calm and very easy going. As a result, all their hard work seemed to flow effortlessly the night of the wedding. We wish them a relaxing and warm honeymoon!

We received a call from Russell Morin Catering on Friday, saying a last-minute DJ was needed for a small wedding in Bristol. The groom thought he could handle the music for his wedding, with a small rented system and an iPod!

Realizing it would be nearly impossible to oversee the music at his reception, he called his coordinator at Morin's, Mike, to help him find a professional DJ.

It's all a wonderful story. Ishan and Charini had visited Newport on vacation from New York, and stumbled upon Bristol. When it came time to be married, they decided that Bristol was the place! They are natives of Sri Lanka, and thought their families would enjoy coming to RI for the event. A few internet searches later, they rented the beautiful Harbor Oaks on Poppasquash Road in Bristol, hired Fine Catering by Rusell Morin and Newport Tent Company, and everything else fell into place!

Music is very important to Ishan, and he had chosen all the music himself, with a variety of styles to please everyone. Oldies, 80's Rock, Latin, and some terrific Sri Lankan music. So, we hurried down to the house on Friday night, got his song list, and met everyone. On Saturday, Glenn set up the Bose system just before the ceremony started out on the dock. After dinner, Ishan was able to relax and dance to the music he worked so hard to prepare. With DJ Glenn at the controls and the Bose system cranked, the crowd danced and danced.

Living nearby, it made us so proud to think that people from all over the world come to Bristol for their weddings! We very much enjoyed meeting Ishan and Charini, their families and friends. We hope they had a fun night to remember, dancing under the stars in RI!

We met Alison & Matt in January 2008 at The Grand Bridal Show. They are both really into music, and we had lots of fun planning the songs for their reception at Crystal Lake Golf Club in Mapleville, RI.

One of the things we didn't plan with Alison & Matt was the Best Man's Toast. The Best Man contacted us directly to enlist our help with his speech. Scroll down to see a video of part of the toast!

Our first wedding of the new year! Now we are SO excited for all of our 2009 weddings!

We were delighted to spend Valentine's Day with Lindsay & Michael. Two great young people and two terrific families joining together. Plus, this crowd loves to dance! We couldn't have asked for a nicer Valentine's Day, or a better way to start off our long list of weddings for 2009.

Their reception was held at Jacky's Galaxie in Bristol, and there's not a better day to use an elegant red, white and black color scheme. There was Valentine candy scattered around, lots of hearts and pretty flowers, and the girls wore pomegranite colored dresses. Flowers were by Esther Scott, and Photography by Kim Botelho. Oh, and hat's off to the staff there - Val and the girls were terrific!

All 4 You DJ Winter Showcase January 24, 2009

This was our second annual winter showcase. We had the idea last year to have a party for our customers!

We wanted our brides and grooms, their wedding parties and parents to come out and hear us, but also a night where we could socialize a bit with everyone, and get to know them. We really feel that if we can get to know them a little bit, we can do a better job at their wedding!

Lots of our brides and grooms came. Emily Chen from La Bella Musica played ceremony music for the first half hour. Lovely! The restaurant was so generous in passing out appetizers.

We raffled off T-shirts, and the hotel raffled off a free hotel night. Our friend Roy from Sweet Sophistications came with 200 cake samples! Woot! And, Gabrielle Marks gave a free engagement shoot and Escort Limosine brought an Escalade, and gave away a gift certificate too! We are the luckiest DJs in the world! Good friends, good times!

Thanks to all who came out and made this event such a huge success! We can't wait to plan for next year! Here are some pics...

Our last wedding of the year!!!

Barbara and Anthony held their reception at the Radisson Airport Hotel. What a beautiful room! The coordinator there, Linda O'Keefe, is a really neat lady. And, the whole thing is orchestrated by Johnson & Wales students. Everyone knows J&W does a great job, and this night was no exception. From putting together Christmas trees for the wedding couple, to baking the cake, these folks do it all! Great food, great music, who could ask for more?

Barbara & Anthony created a lovely atmosphere for their friends and families. The decor was Holiday-ish, but not over the top. The blues and whites were beautiful.

Kenzie & Rich live in Florida, and put together an amazing city reception at the Federal Reserve in Providence. Everything about this place is "top-notch", and Kenzie's choices for decor, layout and style were elegant, but fun!

Kenzie & Rich met in high school, so family and friends were excited to share in this day with them after 15 years together. The happiness in the room was palpable, two families and lots of friends coming together to celebrate. That makes for a crowded dance floor! And I must say that it was a beautiful crowd as well - check out some of the photos. Gorgeous brown bridesmaid dresses, handsome men in suits and guests all decked out!

The Bose speaker system sounded incredible in the nooks and crannies of the Reserve, in the balcony and even in the Vault (a small sitting area setup for the bride & groom)! The coordinator, Jean, was terrific. She was able to oversee the food, the wedding party, and everything else...she seemed to be everywhere! We also had the great pleasure of working with our friends, Gabrielle & Matt of Gabrielle Marks Photography, and our new friend, David Bettencourt on video.

We met Abby and her Mom at The Grand Bridal Show in January. They were planning a wedding for November. It seemed so far away!

Abby & Jesse's reception was held at the Foster Country Club. If you are looking for a reasonable spot, with great food in a picturesque setting, this might be your spot! The staff is extremely accommodating and nice! While they were very easy-going, the room is beautiful for a party of this size - 125 or so.

We try to gather as much information as possible at our meetings about what types of music our couples and their guests will enjoy. This crowd was terrific, and the music was oldies, Rock & Roll, 80's, The Beatles, and later we got into some Top 40 and even some Techno. They danced to absolutely everything!

Lori & David had originally thought about doing an iPod wedding. But after comparing the cost of downloading and putting together the music they wanted, and renting equipment, they decided to hire us! Their reception was held at Francis Farm in Rehoboth, MA. If you're not familiar with Francis Farm, they have the best clambakes in the area!

We had a great time at this casual wedding, filled with family and friends. Lori was just beaming the entire night, and she and her friends danced up a storm! Here are a few pictures of their evening including the really neat cake by Sin Desserts, and really cute centerpieces!

Michael & Michele, Austin TX - Oct. 18, 2008

Oh, what a wonderful time we had in Texas! Ye-haw!

We were approached a few months ago by my cousin Michael, who lives in Austin, TX, to DJ his wedding. As we looked into it, it was a wonderful opportunity for us to travel with the business, to enjoy a weekend in another city with family, and to meet new friends and family. A win-win situation!

Michael is in the Army in Austin, and has served 2 tours in Iraq as a helicopter pilot (not sure of his exact position, but he's a hero to us!). He married Michele, who is a second grade teacher and the perfect match for him! Together they are one of the cutest couples we've ever met!

We contacted Tunes Across Texas for rental equipment, the venue (Berry Creek Country Club) and started to set things up. Both places were willing to accommodate us coming in from out of town, so we booked our flights!

Our weekend started on Friday morning with rather painless flights, and no trouble bringing a couple hundred CD's through security. Then a rental car, and on to the hotel to drop off our bags. They had wonderful welcome bags for us, complete with "Don't Mess With Texas" postcards and little Army men! Next, to the church where I was to meet the organist. Oh, I may have forgotten to mention I was also singing at the ceremony!

Finally, after a long day, we were delighted to join the wedding party and all the out-of-towners at the rehearsal dinner at Duke's BBQ. Yum! The food and the company were kickin'!!

The wedding day was spectacular, in fact the whole weekend was 80 degrees and sunny! The guys played golf and the ladies had lunch. After a dip in the pool, Glenn and I went to check out the room and the equipment that had been delivered.

The reception was lovely, and very much like most of the weddings we do here in RI. It's nice to see that brides and grooms have the same decisions to make, the same songs to pick, etc. There were introductions, parent dances and a garter and bouquet toss. There was even a candy buffet! There were two cakes, the traditional wedding cake and the groom's cake both at the reception. The colors were sage green and chocolate brown.

A highlight for everyone was their First Dance - a "Rock the Reception" style song that started out slow and boring, then the DJ "messed up". The next thing you hear is the start of Michael Buble's "Fever" - and the crowd went wild! Michael and Michele were nervous about the dance, but they did great. I told them what my Mother told me when I was a kid - "just smile and no one will look at your feet!"

We'd like to thank our hosts, the bride & groom, for having the confidence in us to fly us in from RI for such an important occasion. Also Rachel at the Berry Creek and all the staff there - talk about service!!! We've never had so many people come up and ask if there was anything WE needed! Yes, Ma'am!

Both performers, Erin and Matt are quite accustomed to being in the spotlight. But, in my opinion, they both shine off the stage as well! We very much enjoyed our planning time with them! Their reception was as happy and delightful as they are, filled with family and friends and lots of smiles, hugs and dancing! It was such a pleasure for us to be a part of their wedding.

Rachel's Lakeside in Dartmouth, MA was the perfect setting. The room was beautiful, decorated with the colors of Fall - wine, champagne and rust. The walls there are a rich creamy ivory, almost yellow, that looks beautiful in the lighting from the chandelliers. The introductions were exciting, the toasts were funny and eloquent, the dinner was delicious, and of course the music was fantastic!

We had the chance to work with Dave Grenier from Hull Grenier Studios. His work is really great and already up on his website! We like this one of their grand entrance (used with permission - thanks David!)

My husband doesn't understand my obsession with wedding cakes, but I know some of you do. I'm counting calories these days, so I had to skimp all day to have some cake, made byDiane's Delectables. I'd like to report that it was fabulous!! Another great cake experience.

Amelia & Chris - September 13, 2008

Amelia & Chris planned long-distance, she from Connecticut and he from Atlanta. They are a great couple - fun and interesting, and extremely low key! We planned a lot by email, but got an extra chance to meet with them about a month ago.

Since they were out of town, they hired Colleen from Classic Weddings to oversee things. She did a great job of orchestrating and coordinating, and so did Blackstone Catering. We were in good hands all around.

The reception was held at Easton's Beach Rotunda in Newport, a beautiful spot right on the beach! The carousel is also part of the package there, what fun to have your guests go for a ride during cocktail hour! Owned by the City of Newport, this venue was recently renovated, and it looks great! We have a few pics as usual.

A couple of fun musical things - their first dance was played live by a friend on the guitar (amazing), and the Father/daughter dance was a tribute to Amelia's upbringing in Missouri - the St. Louis Blues (and choreographed)! The crowd was from all over, they had guests (and Red Sox fans) from several states and other countries! Everyone danced to the oldies and the latest hits. And, the Bose sounded incredible in that round room! We loved it!

Fiona & Eric - September 6, 2008

These two are such a great couple. Quiet, sincere - just plain nice! We met them over a year ago when they were getting all their vendors booked because Eric was going off to Afghanistan with the National Guard.

This post might be a little long - I have a lot to say about this wedding! First of all, Fiona is a DIY goddess! She is so quiet, and not about to "toot her own horn", but as a wedding professional, I was ga-ga over her handiwork! She showed us the invites she made at one of our meetings, and we were blown away! A graphic artist, she cut and printed everything in her colors of orange, brown, and red. Fiona is originally from Singapore, so her theme had an Asian feel.

At the reception, I was almost unprepared for the amount of work she had done. The centerpieces, the escort cards with the names on the front and their photo on the back, lined up in chopsticks! The table numbers, standing paper frames with quotes about Love, Faith, etc. The hanging rose pomander balls - oh my! - made from coffee filters! She told me she got the idea from Martha Stewart's website. The paper cards for guests to write a message, and then hang on a tree. She is just amazing. I'll post some photos, and and would highly recommend her work if she were to offer it to other brides.

Well, the big story of the day was Tropical Storm Hanna. We will never forget her. The caterers from Veritas Catering did an amazing job of keeping cool while running food down a grassy hill in the rain. I commend them for their professionalism! They are part of the Chow Fun Food Group in Providence, owners of XO Steakhouse, and one of our favorite places - Citron.

As for us, everyone knows that electricity and water don't mix, so we had lots of anxiety...I mean planning to do, to get ready for this wedding. That morning we packed the van as if we were going camping - towels and blankets, hats and umbrellas (which were useless, ha ha), extra clothing, lots of industrial trash bags, a cooler in case we got stranded. It seems funny now, but we were seriously packing for adventure!

Kudos to the guys as Newport Tent Company, who told us they had over 100 tents in the area that day, and still sent a guy to hook us up electrically, because our line had been forgotten at setup. I hope they have recovered! Kelli at Exquisite Events did the interior lighting, and we loved the orange lanterns.

Also, we can't say enough about the officiant, Victoria Burdick. The ceremony was late, it was moved indoors, then outdoors, then indoors again, it was raining, we were all stressing out. In walks Victoria, and I swear there was a light shining over her head! She is inspiring, funny, and the ceremony was wonderful (accompanied by terrific music, to be sure!) and we highly recommend her to anyone!

And could we have any more vendor reviews? Oh, yes, and I finally got to taste what all the fuss is about with Sin Desserts. Okay, I'm still thinking about the devil's food with raspberry filling cupcake I had. I may never have another. I think it's calling me...where in Providence is her shop again?

We wish Fiona & Eric the best, they both worked so hard to create their day, and they weathered the storm beautifully. Their guests had fun, and we hope they did too!

Jennifer & Shaun - September 5, 2008

We don't usually gush over a couple, but these two are really special! Jenn & Shaun really won our hearts with their vision for their day. They are so much fun, and their personalities are so kind and warm. Plus, Shaun is a firefighter, and we are big suckers for people who put their lives on the line for others. So, they had us at hello!

This delightful evening started with an outdoor ceremony in the gorgeous gardens at Independence Harbor in Assonet, MA. We provided the music, and Rev. Cheryl Cavalconte officiated.

The guys wore navy blue suits, and the girls wore navy gowns. Lots of pink accents. Jenn looked so naturally beautiful, you'd think she wore a wedding gown every day! I don't think we got a good picture of them (I tried!) but maybe they'll send us one. Dinner was delightful and the cake by Paul at The Cake Gallery in Bristol was delish as always! I did get a picture of that, and who doesn't love to see pics of a great candy buffet! We hope friends and family had a good time - based on how they were chanting for "one more song" at the end of the night, we are pretty sure they did!
